Loopback is an audio routing app which has been both a blessing and curse for me in my podcasting world. Think of loop back as a virtual mixer where audio sources can be passed into and out of into applications. With it's latest release Loopback has become even more awesome.

Can Loopback 2 solve all my audio software routing needs?
Rogue Amoeba recently updated their Loopback software to version 2 and I reached out to them for a review copy, which they were happy to provide.
Wirecast pro 12 1 16. In my short time with it I quickly realized it is a near essential tool for routing audio on the mac.
With Loopback 2 I'm able to create a virtual audio device that combines my microphone, the output of skype, the output of reaper, firefox, Zoom, iTunes (pretty much anything) within one interface that I can access as an audio device in Screenflow for recording, or OBS for streaming.

To summarize my complaints
1 – can't reroute virtual audio cables once connected (have to delete and make new
2 – no undo, it's easy to shift-click the wrong thing and since there's a lot of delete key action needed, I had to start over a couple times.
3 – can't back up, export, share settings.
4 – metering and volume controls do not have dB or % markings or tooltips. Very mac-like but not great for audio people.
5 – Price, it's $99 US and that's a lot of damage. But I don't think there's anything else close to what this can do.
